Scenario

Charles, a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he responds to a private detective’s complaint and becomes the mole in an undercover investigation of a nursing home

Michael Schur was inspired to write “A Man On the Inside” after watching the Chilean documentary “The Mole Agent.” He says, “The documentary The Mole Agent is very powerful because it evokes a remarkably similar feeling in people of all ages, ethnicities, and genders, and I would describe that feeling very simply as ‘I need to call my mom.’ In our show, we tried to do something similar with the tone: does our show fundamentally contribute to that feeling that makes us want to call our moms?

I thought it was great!

A remake of El agente topo (2020).

I was expecting a comedy full of clichés about someone going undercover, his crazy antics, and… and so on

Instead, we get a series about a man who not only helped others, but also helped himself cope with the loss of his wife.

This great series wasn’t full of jokes and clichés, I actually got emotional at times because the themes weren’t handled well – like the resident with memory problems

But it wasn’t all that serious that you felt depressed or bored while watching the episodes, but the series was worth watching because you wanted to see how it ended – who steals etc.

The cast was great, the cinematography and locations are well done

I really hope they do another season and bring a great mix of laughs, emotions, script, location and cast like they did with Charles’ next detective adventure.
