I don’t often watch films from Peru, as Peruvian cinema is very rare to come across. Being one of the few Peruvian films I’ve seen, this one is very good.
Throughout the film, the camerawork is very good, along with the production designs, set design and presentation used throughout the film
Director Klaudia Reynicke definitely makes a personal and interesting observation of the family dynamic between father and daughters and the dynamic is well executed with good performances, strong direction and very good dialogue moments. The narrative is simple and while it is predictable and a bit cheesy, the emotional core, direction and good performances help to keep the story interesting.
Overall, it’s a good, warm and sweet film
Including some interesting insights into Peru’s political turmoil and the dynamic relationships between father and sons.
