Scenario

A husband takes his wife and their teenage children on a trip down memory lane when dealing with a divorce. Florent Bernard wrote the film with Charlotte Gainsbourg as Sandrine in mind, but asked for a Charlotte Gainsbourg-like actress instead, thinking she could. never take her in a movie. Luckily, his producers were also working on Jane par Charlotte (2021) (her documentary about her famous mother), so they asked her and she loved the script. It was only after she agreed that Bernard got the idea to hook her up with José Garcia; then he completely rewrote the character for him. He finally read the script one Wednesday morning and said yes later that day. In an early breakfast scene in the film, Sandrine’s children are looking at their bowl of cereal in one shot, and then suddenly their mother, off to the side, is in the next shot.
