I loved Lost on a Mountain in Maine
Scenario
Based on the book of the same name, the film tells the inspiring story of a 12-year-old boy who, separated from his family by a fast-moving storm, must fight to stay alive during his nine-day adventure lost in the woods of Maine. This inspiring story of survival features strong acting and poignant messaging with stunning cinematography and scenery. This film is based on the true story of twelve-year-old Don Fendler (Luke David Bloom). Separated from a group of hikers, Don gets lost on Maine’s highest mountain.
Two of the growers liked it growing
The odds are against him, so can he survive long enough to be found? Don’s story is written in the book of the same name as this movie, and the book inspired this movie. One of them, Ryan Cook, read the book in fourth grade and was lucky enough to have Don in his class, and has wanted to see a movie made of the story ever since. Another producer, Dick Boyce, took a liking to the book from his father, who followed Don’s story as it unfolded on the radio.
Luke David Bloom as Don Fendler portrays Don so well; I really felt all his emotions
With the film still to be made, Cook and Boyce decided to shoot it alone, and here we are. Throughout the film, we get to see actual interviews with the people involved in Don’s search – Don’s family and eventually Don himself – and each video marks a new chapter in the film. I learned quite a few tips from this movie that will come in handy if I ever find myself in the same situation as Don. Paul Sparks as his father and Griffin Wallace as his twin brother are excellent in their roles.
It will appear in cinemas in 2024
All of them together create an incredible tension that kept me emotionally involved in the story. This movie has many messages about family values and ingenuity. This film contains some risky behaviors that young children should not attempt to reproduce and some scenes that may be frightening to young children. I give Lost in the Maine Mountains 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12-18 and adults.
