Is It a SinWritten by Al HazanPerformed by Allie Hazan
Scenario
An up-and-coming chef and a recent divorcee find their lives forever changed when a chance encounter brings them together, in a decade-spanning, deeply moving romance.. Director John Crowley also directed Andrew Garfield in Garfield’s first feature film, Boy A (2007).. The film follows the story of two complete strangers who eventually end up forming a family.
But it does so in a delicate, and genuine way
It embarks us on their journey – a lovely journey – with all the ups and joyful moments, as well as the downs and real-life struggles couples often face, including unexpected devastating news. The movie’s atmosphere features tender, pure, and wholesome moments that create a warm feeling. Andrew Garfield perfectly fits his role, bringing charm and authenticity, and his performance stands out.
The frequent time jumps leave me with mixed feelings
The rest of the cast delivers convincing performances, and the subtle humor makes it even more appealing. It avoids the cliché ending and is clever and efficient – not overly emotional, but still satisfying. While they were not entirely effective, I believe they worked well enough here.
Additionally, some small details in the story were not convincing
However, the film’s main shortcoming is its inability to evoke stronger emotions. It lacks the deep connection that would elevate it from a sweet romance to a more impactful drama. You become involved with the characters, but the connection isn’t strong enough to evoke sadness or shock in important moments.
In summary, this is a solid romance – sweet, pure, and complete
However, it does not quite reach the emotional heights that would leave a lasting impact. While it could benefit from deeper emotional engagement, I still found it to be an enjoyable movie- delicate, genuine, and pure!.
